Route Info does not show Points for Routes created in Basecamp.

With Firmware 10.50, Garmin introduced Courses and as a Bonus, the 'Routes' function also changed a little bit, which now shows all points within a route, when being first opened.

I noticed, that this seems only to work, when using a Route, which was created on Montana directly. If I use a Route - created in BaseCamp - it does not show anything. Both Routes just work fine. I am aware, that Edit does not work for BaseCamp routes, but this is fine. I only would like to see the containing Points.

So I wonder, what is the difference? I suspect, that this is, how it's designed

One can see immediately that these two routes are not the same, especially when viewing them in a text editor.

The route created on the Montana 7x0 is a simple direct route, and the GPX file contains only 2,562 characters in 52 lines of text.

The route created in BaseCamp includes both direct and guided paths, the GPX file consisting of 234,937 characters in 3,799 lines of text.

This is beyond apple and oranges!

Try exporting ONLY the direct route from BaseCamp and retesting, then ONLY the guided route and test again.

I disagree here. While it's true, that it has more information, the base structure is the same. This means, in both variants from BaseCamp, all planed five points are found in '<rtept>'. This is for both variants in BaseCamp, with direct routing and motorbike routing.

The difference are those '<gpxx:RoutePointExtension>' which contain the pre-planed route from BaseCamp. But those are not the points, which are shown in direct routing and still present in the BaseCamp route.

So I would still expect, that in both modes, the points are being shown, not only for direct, as the information is exactly the same. See '<rtept>'.

Try exporting ONLY the direct route from BaseCamp and retesting, then ONLY the guided route and test again.

Yep, in this case, it haves the same way, as a route does created on Montana. Thank you.
