Garmin Fleet 770 reinstall android

I bought a Fleet 770 that was "bricked" for a few dollars and have got it going ok fully updated etc on the Garmin part.
But on android I get a notification "Google Play Services keeps stopping" that returns as soon as it's dismissed.
I like to think I'm a bit tech savvy but I can't sort this. Would love to keep this thing.

I'm not certain Google Play Services still work with Android 6.

Android 6.0 was released in 2015, and we ended support to provide the latest and greatest features in our app using the more recent Android versions. As of September 2019, Google no longer supports Android 6.0, and there will be no new security updates.

Cheers. It's a pity. It's pretty good I was going to give it to my uncle for his campervan. I'll see if I can disable the message somehow and just use it as gpsr

If you are having problems with "Play Store" from Google you can disable it and use one of the many 3rd. part app store that are out there.

You will need to try which one is best for you.....

Huawei app store
Humble Bundle
OPPO App Market
QooApp
Samsung Galaxy Apps
Tencent Appstore
Yalp Store
Xiaomi GetApps


This way you can update any of the apps that need updating.
Most of these stores let you side load the app and then install it.

Then you can get the apps that best work with Android 6.0 and 6.0.1 versions.

Make sure you check which android version you have before you download any app.

I have managed to sideload play services or the other one play store.
I just can't stop this thing "saying" Google Play Services keeps stopping
I'll clear that and it will pop up again sometimes before I can get another keystroke in!

So I read something about version of play services and I'm going to try that. Next rainy day.
Or can I install marshmallow fresh. It's getting beyond me
