External power

This may be a dump question, but, May I plug the Garmin gps map 65 into external power with Alkaline batteries installed? Will it switch to external power and save battery power?

Thats's not a problem. The device will switch to external power and doesn't drain the batteries anymore. The device does not try to charge the batteries, unless you replace the AA-s with the NiMH battery pack from Garmin.
