Courses Zoom-in level restricted to 12m

Hi,1st time poster here.

Device: Garmin Etrex SE with firmware 4.22

Issue: 12 meter restriction on Zoom-in on Courses/maps. (Auto Zoom is disabled)


I currently use my Etrex SE for hard enduro riding in the mountains. Trails are navigated via GPS only.
Being off course by 12m is quite a big issue when navigating in the wilderness where a trail can't be easily seen!

I have used the Etrex 10 and 22x previously. If I recall correctly, they are able to Zoom in to 5m ?

The SE only zooms to 12m.

Is this a thing? or am I doing something wrong?

Indeed, eTrex SE map zoom level is from 12m to 500km.

Although I do not find 12m minimum limiting considering GPS accuracy. 10-12m for me is optimal to view very tight routes on PC or on eTrex SE. Beyond that either map resolution or GPS accuracy become a practical limitation.

Actually, the 12m is a big issue when riding in thick brush.

Even more so when one is on a steep off camber slope.

The Etrex 22x and 32x went down to 5m
