Active Weather Data

• To view active weather and forecast information, your GPSMAP 66sr must have an active internet connection.
• Connect to the internet via a Bluetooth paired smart phone or connect to a Wi-Fi network.
• Select desired Tab to display current weather + forecast, radar, cloud cover, temperatures or wind speeds.
• Shaded areas on the map indicate no weather data is loaded on the device, or the device is out-of-coverage.
• Weather information is not available for out-of-coverage areas on the map.
• During animated playback, the device displays a time stamp for each frame displayed.

Active Weather Tabs

• All Active Weather functions can be accessed from these tabs:

	Forecast
	Radar Map
	Cloud Cover Map
	Temperature Map
	Wind Speed Map

 

 

 

Forecast

• View current weather conditions and a four day forecast for the selected location.
• Hourly forecast information is available for the first 24 hour period.
• Daily forecast information is provided for the following three days.

 

Selected Location

• Displays forecast information for the selected location.

View current weather and four day forecast	Select current or next day to view hourly forecast info	Scroll hourly forecast and select desired time	Detailed forecast information is displayed for selected time

 

 

Change Location

• View forecast information for a saved location.

(Menu) [Manage Locations]	Choose desired location	[Use]	View selected location conditions and forecast

 

 

View Location

• View a saved forecast location on the map.

(Menu) [Manage Locations]	Select desired location	[View Map]	Selected location is displayed on map
(Menu) [Review Point]	View details for selected location

 

 

Add Location

• Save a new forecast location for future review.
• For this example, we will create a new location for Madera Canyon, Arizona.

(Menu) [Manage Locations]	[+ New Location]	Select desired category	Scroll available selections
(Menu) [Select Map]	Select desired map data to be used for search	(Menu) [Spell Search]	Enter search text
[Done]	Select desired search result	[Use]	Edit location name if desired
[Done]	Forecast data is loaded	View selected location conditions and forecast	Forecast list now includes new location

 

 

Remove Location

• Delete an existing location from the forecast list.

(Menu) [Manage Locations]	Select desired location	[Delete]	Location removed from list

 

 

Radar Map

• Displays current radar map for GPS location.
• Play animation to view radar map for previous hour in 10 minute increments.

Radar map is displayed	(Menu) > [Play] to start animation	Radar animation is displayed	(Menu) > [Stop] to stop animation

 

 

Cloud Cover Map

• Displays a map with current cloud cover for GPS location.
• Play animation to view cloud cover map for previous hour in 10 minute increments.

Cloud Cover map is displayed	(Menu) > [Play] to start animation	Cloud Cover animation is displayed	(Menu) > [Stop] to stop animation

 

 

Temperature Map

• Displays a map with current temperatures for GPS location.
• Play animation to view 12 hour temperature map forecast in 3 hour increments.

Temperature map is displayed	(Menu) > [Play] to start animation	Temperature animation is displayed	(Menu) > [Stop] to stop animation

 

 

Wind Speed Map

• Displays a map with current wind speeds and directions for GPS location.
• Play animation to view 12 hour wind speed and direction forecast in 3 hour increments.
